Sabani boats from Japanese islands south west of Okinawa. Traditionally built in planks and joined with dovetail joints, sometimes paddled, and also using small junk sails to move when wind is favourable. As best as I can tell traditionally these boats did not have an outrigger, it now seems they are used for tourists who prefer a less tender boat, and now seems the outrigger is standard
Note the stern is highish and has a little width, I am pretty sure this is because it allows a person to sit here and steer with a paddle
Note that when I look at the bottom image, I can see two unused mast steps. I assume this allows the base of the mast to be placed forwards or backwards. It we assume the mast at gunnel height is fixed in location, then the use of multiple mast steps would allow for changing the rake of the mast, possibly move center of effort aft if the boat is stern heavy? just speculation on my part.
